This is a general overall  powerpoint which I use when working with anyone who would like to think about writing for academic publication-on a workshop, or as the bais for the MA module at the University of Brighton 'Writing for Academic Publication'

It takes you through identifying why you would like to write for pubication? what stops you? and how to go about it - it suggests some journal website searching to identify journals and their impact, their rules for writing for the journal , and indiates the typical  journey from ideas to writing to publication for journal articles and books. It is useful in conjunction with the 'breaking writing blocks' and 'turning a conference paper into a publication' powerpoints/ sessions,  and tips and podcasts.
